Broadcast Live, 24/7
Switch between Cameras in Real Time
Instantly switch between multiple cameras with one click- you can set up to 4 cameras and switch back and forth as many times as you like, creating a unique viewing experience.
Versatile Player You Can Embed Anywhere
Place your show anywhere. Simply copy the embed code from your Dcast page and paste the code on your website, social network, blog or any website.
Advertisement free environment – for Premium Dcast only
Premium Dcasting is an advertisement free. You can secure your own ads and sponsors, and include into your Premium Dcast if desired. As a Premium Dcaster you will be able to use DarpaTV Advertising engine (details below).
Choose Stream and Audio Quality – HD quality available for Premium Dcast only
You have option to choose between a low, medium, high or HD quality broadcast stream. Broadband requirement for low to medium broadcast is 0.3 MB/s upload and download. For the high (HD) broadcast quality you will need minimum 0.5 MB/s upload and 0.3 MB/s download.
Call screener platform - for Premium Dcast only.
The host can use a call screener (please arrange with DarpaTV team) to be sure no unwanted callers are put on the air. The call screener can also check for audio and video making sure the caller is all set and ready to be on the show.
Recording of the show - for Premium Dcast only.
DarpaTV team can record your show to be later used as on demand for your company. If you have questions about this feature, please contact the DarpaTV team.
Customizable - for Premium Dcast only.
DarpaTV player can be customized and labeled to your needs. Please note this needs to be agreed upon with DarpaTV team.
Public Broadcast
Your broadcast will be listed in the DarpaTV schedule as well as you can embed the small DarpaTV player to any of your online places.
Private Broadcast - for Premium Dcast only
Private broadcast is not displayed in the DarpaTV schedule nor can it be watched on the DarpaTV main player. Private broadcasts can be watched only on the player you embed to your online places. As you schedule your Premium Dcast you will have to select if your broadcast is public or private.
Free Dcast
Your Dcast will be listed in the DarpaTV schedule as well as you can embed the small DarpaTV player to any of your online places. Free Dcasts will have automated advertisements during the show, free Dcast is not advertisement free. Many features available to Premium Dcasting are not available to Free Dcasting.
Viewers Analytics
During the show the host sees real numbers (how many viewers are watching, how many viewers in total, how many fans the host has and how many on air/callers requests). Number of total viewers per Dcast is also listed on the front page in the selector under info area.
Player Features
No Player Download Required
DarpaTV does not require a download. The Dcasting platform is web-based and very easy to use. Viewers will just go to the DarpaTV homepage or embedded DarpaTV player and select the show they would like to watch.
Integrated Viewer Chat
Have fun in the interactive chat room during the Dcast. Comment, question, meet and talk with new friends. The viewer’s name in the chat room is a link to their profile. Chat room displays hot links and host has control over the chat room. Host can turn chat on and off.
Become a Fan
Click on “fan button” and instantly become a fan. Be linked to your favorite shows, receive their Darp’s automatically. You can also DarpBack!
Submit Questions
Click on the “Question” button and type a question for everyone to see. Other viewers can rate the question from 1- 5; 5 being the most important question the viewers want answered and 1 being the least important. The host can read the questions as well as delete any or all.
Call in
To call into the show, click on the “On Air Request” button. Call in anytime spontaneously. Add your commentary, suggestions and questions. It's your 15 minutes of fame. How does it work? With a click of a button viewers can request to be on the air with you. It is at the Dcaster’s discretion to choose who will be on the air with him/her and when they will appear on the screen for the audience to view. With the click of a button, the Dcaster can bring the caller on screen and on air at anytime. The Dcaster also has the choice to have the caller in a PIP (picture in picture) format or force a split screen view. The viewers will be able to change their view anytime they want.
Fill in you Profile
It would be a great additive for your viewers to get to know all about you. Add your avatar, record your greeting and fill in your all about me section. Viewers can click on your DarpaTV-ID to see your profile. Profile can be viewed from the chat room or if you are a caller. We recommend hosts fill in their profiles as well.
Resize screen – Full size available
Viewers can resize the broadcasting stream as well as pictures displayed by the host. When a caller is on, the viewer can resize the caller’s window to take a closer look, and also choose split screen view to see both host and the caller side by side. You can also use the full screen feature.
Style & Quality Features
Pause Dcast stream
The host can pause the real time broadcast stream if needed with a click and can resume broadcast by clicking again.
Watermark
Upload an identifiable watermark for your show that will be displayed in the Dcast schedule on the homepage player.
Show Pictures during your Dcast
Enrich your Dcast with pictures for your viewers. The viewers can either view it in a PIP box (picture in picture) or enlarge the image to get a closer look.
Play Videos during your Dcast
Show your viewers video clips with a click of the button. When playing a video you can talk over the clip or pause the clip and then comment (frame synchronization – all viewers see the same frame).
Automated Advertisements – for Free Dcast only
Advertisements activate 1 minute before it is inserted into your broadcast. We have provided one minute to prepare for the upcoming advertisement insert. DarpaTV advertisements are very short 30-60 second spots.
Sound Effects
Activate the sound effect key pad located in the upper left corner on the platform and enhance your broadcast with sound effects like the professionals.
Talk Over Clips (with or without a Caller)
Talk over the clip while it is playing. Click on the Broadcast button to activate this feature. The caller can comment over the clip as well if the caller is not at the time playing of the clip. If the video clip is paused the DarpaTV system uses frame synchronization so all viewers are watching the same frame.
Play and Pause to Comment about Clip (with Caller)
The Broadcast button changes to the “Pause” button. To stop the audio stream click on the “Pause” button.
Enlarge the Screen
With a click of the button viewer can enlarge the DarpaTV player’s screen or choose the full screen, whether it is a live stream, picture or caller to get a closer look.
Split Screen with Caller
When you are in a call, you can force a split screen for your viewers. The caller will appear right next to you instead of the usual PIP. Click the button only once and your viewers will see the split screen. Your viewer will still be able to change the view from their player as well.
Open Social Network
DarpaTV encourages host-to-viewer, viewer-to-host and viewer-to-viewer interaction. DarpaTV’s open social network underlines the DarpaTV Dcasting technology. Viewers have direct access to Twitter or Facebook during the show to share their experience. DarpaTV also allows users to create a profile, video greetings, video messages called Darps, IM communications and other social network activities.
Advertising Engine – for Premium Dcast only
The following features are available for large business customers. Advertisement delivery is Dynamic, Targeted and Personalized.
Banner Ads - for Premium Dcast only
Small banner ad placed on the embeddable player can be used for leads or special offer, tracking of consumer’s opinion etc.
Video Ads (Hot Links) - for Premium Dcast only
The screen turns into the hot link as soon as you play your advertisement. Otherwise the screen enlarges on the click. If user clicks on the screen during the ad, a designated link of your choice will open. Don’t forget, the mouse is faster than 1-800 numbers.
Live Stream hot spots - for Premium Dcast only
This is very special feature. During your pitch to purchase speech you can hold an object. Tell your viewers to click on the object now to get the discount/offer. This is very new and effective form of advertising, which results in impulse shopping.
Ad Delivery Analytics - for Premium Dcast only
Immediately after your show you will be able to view the analytics report of your advertising campaign. (Clicks, buys, demographics, geographic, device access, time users watched the show….etc.)
