More Details:
How do I start?
DarpaTV is simple. First, you need to register for a DarpaTV-ID and password. When you login, you will go to 'My Dcast.' In 'My Dcast,' it will prompt you to request a time slot, beginning time and end time, and to write a short description of what your Dcast will be about. After your time slot has been approved, you will be allowed to upload pictures and clips to use during your broadcast (you need to upload these to the DarpaTV server 30 minutes minimum before your scheduled show, so be prepared!). You will be allowed to start your broadcast 10 minutes before it is scheduled.
How do I use the DarpaTV Broadcasting Technology?
We have assembled an easy-to-use manual in PDF format (see the support page access from the bottom menu), explaining all the features and tricks of the Broadcasting system, which you will be able to access after you register for your Dcast.
How do I Schedule your Dcast?
Login to the DarpaTV website and click on “My Dcast” located on the secondary menu. The ‘My Dcast’ page will allow you to schedule your Dcast, by selecting the beginning time and end time. You have a choice to do 1 or 2 hour shows. You may schedule a show up to 10 minutes before the start of the show. Example: If you want to schedule a Dcast for 10:00 PM, you have up to 9:50 PM to schedule the show. There can be up to five shows running simultaneously. If you are scheduling a show and the maximum has been reached, a message will inform you of such. Maximum of 1 Dcast per calendar day can be scheduled. You can schedule up to 5 Dcasts ahead. Once you finish a Dcast you can schedule an additional one, but only 5 Dcasts can be scheduled ahead of time. To be able to broadcast more often and be able to use additional features, see the comparison between Free Dcast and Premium Dcast here.
What do I need to do to prepare?
In addition to preparing for your show by doing a little research, gathering information, uploading clips and pictures, and advertising your Dcast to your viewers, you need to have a webcam and microphone and headphones, or headset.
Will my Dcast be recorded?
Partially yes. You will be able to download the live stream separately from the caller stream and then post produce the show together with your videos and pictures. You do have the option to record you Dcast independently. In order to record your Dcast, you will need an additional computer with a screenshot recording program. In addition, you will need extra bandwidth in order to record your show on the same Internet connection (350K). We recommend that you record your Dcast at a remote location.
