Who is a Dcaster?
A Dcaster is anyone who uses DarpaTV for a live two-way broadcast. That means not only are you broadcasting to an audience, but the audience can participate in your broadcast by beaming onto your program with their comments, questions, and concerns, while the viewers are watching the interaction. To be fully prepared for your on-air debut, a Dcaster should organize an episode in which they would like to broadcast; collecting a few articles to talk about, uploading clips and pictures to entertain their viewers, and compile a list of questions to ask their audience, giving them the opportunity to call in and participate. You can talk about anything (keep the Community Guildlines in mind)! Do a little research, gathering surverys, lists, and information that would intrigue your audience. Keep in mind that your broadcast will be an hour minimally, so make sure you have enough to talk about. You can end the broadcast earlier, but you are not a quitter are you?
Who is going to watch my Dcast?
It is up to you to advertise your Dcast. Embed your DarpaTV player, it will play your show only. Utilize the common social networks, such as Twitter, Facebook, My Space, and your own blog to make it easy to let your viewers know when your Dcast will air on DarpaTV. You will be able to tweet during the broadcast and so will your viewers right from the broadcasting platform or the DarpaTV player. Direct your viewer to the website and have your friends register! Word of mouth is the best way to gain an audience and once you air your broadcasts regularly, people will know exactly when you'll be on to catch your Dcast.
